Set
in the heart of the Lake District, in the beautiful vale of Esthwaite, lies
Field Head Farm, owned by Peter and Debbie Griffiths - the country bumpkins
of Bumpkinworld! The property comprises the old 17th century farmhouse, with
two self catering holiday cottages.
Weavers Loft, which sleeps three, and

This is now my hobby, but my job used to be building mechanical
organs - not only a bumpkin, but eccentric too!
The farmhouse is believed to have been built around 1610 and is cruck timbered.
There is a large barn which is pre 1600 and also cruck timbered and is featured in Melvyn Bragg's Land of the Lakes book.
Field Head Farm is situated approx 2 miles from the picture postcard village of Hawkshead, in Cumbria, very close to Tarn Hows.
The home of Beatrix Potter at Nr Sawrey is 4 miles away. The area has many visitor attractions including Beatrix Potter Gallery and the Grammar School attended by William Wordsworth in Hawkshead, Steam yacht Gondola on Coniston Water to name but a few!

The main part of Weavers Loft was originally a spinning gallery, and is a nicely sized, unusually shaped accommodation.
Weavers Gallery has been spectacularly converted from an old barn, and is an extremely spacious open plan accommodation. It has a galleried open bedroom, with en-suite bathroom, and a separate galleried seating area with an excellent view down the valley.
Both cottages have the use of our large garden and paddock, which covers approx 5 acres. At the bottom of the paddock is a boating lake with a rowing boat available.
